  • David Naidus, DVM

    Veterinarian
Where do I begin??? Well, it all started in Detroit Michigan on a hot summer day early in July. Near the intersection of 8 mile road I started on my journey that lead me to San Diego, Ca. After an uneventful grade school and a busy high school experience I headed off to Michigan state university… GO SPARTANS!! I graduated in December of 1974, YES I SAID 74!!! My first veterinary job was in Pittsburgh Penn., where I was part of a busy 4 man practice, the hills and freezing weather drove me west, in my quest to follow the sun and stay warm!  I landed in San Diego and began my job in El Cajon where I remained for 30 yrs!! After so many years I find I can continue to grow and learn and take care of God’s creatures, and am now a very happy member of the Cuyamaca veterinary team, where I plan to continue my career another 30 years at least!

  • Joseph

    Ambassador / Resort Greeter
Joseph (Joey) came to us in February of 2008. Joey had befriended one of our staff members by swatting her legs each night when she would get home from work. One night our staff member became concerned because Joey was not there to attack her when she arrived at home. She searched for Joey and found him under a parked car with a swollen face and leg. Of course she rushed him right in.

Joey had a fractured jaw, a broken tooth, and injuries to one of his legs. After some minor surgery and a couple weeks of recovery time Joseph was back to his ornery self. He now lives here at Furry Friends Resort where he spends his days napping and harassing the staff until they give him treats. A very tough existence.
  • Salem

    Ambassador / Lifesaver
Salem came to us in 2006 with a urinary blockage which can be life threatening. His family elected to relinquish him to us and we were able to perform Perineal Urethrostomy surgery. Salem now requires a special urinary diet but is otherwise very healthy.

Salem donates blood and has helped to save several other cats since he joined our family. He loves attention and is fond of helping Dr Martin type up her charts.
  • Simon

    Ambassador / Retired Lifesaver
Simon came to us many years ago while we were at another hospital. His right rear leg had been mangled and was beyond surgical repair so it had to be removed. Simon adapted well to life on three legs and became a blood donor for hospitalized cats in need.

After saving many lives Simon is now retired. He lives here at Cuyamaca Animal Hospital. Simon's favorite pastime is to sit in his bed staring lovingly at Ron and then vomiting on his keyboard.
